This Adorable Elephant Grabbed A Guy's Camera And Took An "Elphie"

Elphie?

Selfies aren't just for humans anymore. An elephant in Thailand decided he was feeling himself and got in on what we'll call an "Elphie" with a GoPro

The photo was shared by a Canadian man named Christian LeBlanc on Instagram, and it quickly went viral.

"I didn't even have time to think. It all happened so fast," the 22-year-old told CBC News.

LeBlanc said he snapped the pic while traveling through southern Thailand two months ago.

While exploring the country, LeBlanc came across an elephant sanctuary where you could pay to feed the animals bananas. He said he and his girlfriend bought a basket to feed the elephants.

However, the elephant had a different idea, grabbed his GoPro, and snapped the picture.

On Instagram, he explained that his GoPro was on a time-lapse feature when the elephant grabbed it, so the animal didn't actually have to push the button.

LeBlanc is chronicling his travels through Asia, including a pretty awesome selfie with a shark, on his Instagram and YouTube pages.

He said he can't believe so many people have seen his elephant snap.

"I'm in shock that this story has gone viral. It's been a pretty crazy two days," he told CBC News.

BuzzFeed News has reached out to LeBlanc for comment.
