Sad. I didn't agree with him much if at all and yeh, he was involved in the Plame affaire. Still, he had a coherent and strong argument for conservativism in the US. He was one of the few conservatives I actually felt made an effective counter-point to the Democrats. His passing makes the intellectual wing of the Republican Party even quieter. In his place more alienating hyperbole from Limbaugh, Beck, and Hannity.
