Florida Man Arrested For “Molesting” A Manatee
Ryan William Waterman, a man from Fort Pierce, Florida, has been arrested for pulling a baby manatee out of the water and hugging it and then letting his children ride it.
1. Waterman decided to put the photos on his Facebook, for some reason.
2. In Florida, it is illegal to injure, harm, harass, capture, or attempt to capture a manatee. If he’s convicted he’ll be fine $500 and spent up to 60 days in jail.
4. Last October, a similar incident happened, involving a woman from Florida who got on the back of a manatee and rode it.

Seriously, I live in FL. They need to quit with this Shit. Who the hell keeps snitching n alerting the FL Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commision for this dumb shit. Seriously Manatees aren’t even all that as much as I care for the Ocean’s lil Speed Bumps, People shouldn’t get in trouble jus for takin a picture with them or ridin them.. jus my 2 cents

Last I checked, manatees are endangered. West Indian manatees in the United States are protected under federal law by the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972, and the Endangered Species Act of 1973, which make it illegal to harass, hunt, capture, or kill any marine mammal.
I think picking the baby out of the water and sitting on it constitutes harassment.
