NYU Girls' Newt Gingrich Slumber Party

The ladies of the New York University Republican Club slept over together for Newt. Their fearless leader (back right below) is Andrea Catsimatidis Cox, the daughter of one of the richest men in New York and wife of Richard Nixon's grandson.

Newt Gingrich has a bevy of young female supporters at NYU, a school widely seen as one of the most liberal in the country.

The tipster who leaked the photos of "Newt Gingrich Sleepover" to NYU Local told BuzzFeed that they came from the Facebook of the president of the NYU College Republicans. The sleepover happened about a week ago and looks to have been well-attended.

Reached by email, club president Andrea Catsimatidis Cox -- daughter-in-law of New York Republican State Committee chair Ed Cox -- told BuzzFeed:

Even on a campus as liberal as NYU we have some great conservatives. There is a lot of support for Newt on campus. A lot of college students are drawn to his big ideas that are needed to solve our country's problems. I know these supporters are eager to voice their support and get the word out about Newt Gingrich's bold ideas!

Our club can't endorse candidates but I got together with a couple of friends from the club who share in my support for Newt. We thought it was a fun way to share our political passions. Our club is about working hard to support our party and the country we believe in. We also try to make it fun in th [sic] process. We spent the night discussing Newt Gingrich and the 2012 race against Obama and watching political movies. Overall it was a fun evening and a fun and if I may add creative way to show our support for our favorite candidate.
