Selena Gomez Instagrammed A Picture In Support Of Palestinians — And Hasn’t Deleted It

“It’s about humanity.”

Selena Gomez shared this photo in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza on her Instagram page on Friday — sparking a bitter exchange in the comments over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

As of Saturday morning, the photo has over 499,000 likes. In the caption Gomez wrote, “Please pray for those families and babies today. Please always remember what’s important in life. It’s not any of this. We are here to help, inspire and love. Be that change. #wearethenextgeneration.”

Since Israel launched its military campaign in Gaza, several celebrities like Rihanna and NBA star Dwight Howard have caused controversy for tweeting — and then deleting — statements in support of Palestinians.

Later, Gomez posted this image with the caption: “And of course to be clear, I am not picking any sides. I am praying for peace and humanity for all!”
