"You know what I realized about the word dude? It means everything," says Stone. "It's one of the only words in the American version of the American version of the English language that can mean anything. Watch: Dude. Dude! Dude… Dude? It can mean absolutely anything that you set your mind to. What other word can give you all of those feelings?"
Emma Stone: "Actually, any of the seven dwarves. I would love to be called Sneezy."
"Anyone can call me Em. That feels great," says Stone.
When in doubt...
Stone says, "Female to female, lady I think is the thing I probably use most."
Once, during filming, Stone and an on-set security guard had nicknames for each other: Dragon and Nighthawk. "Cultivate nicknames and your life is different," she says.
