1. On June 23, Al Jazeera journalists Peter Greste, Mohammed Fahmy, and Baher Mohamed were sentenced to seven years in a maximum security Egyptian prison.
They were accused of spreading false news and supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.
2. Louisa Loveluck — a reporter for the Christian Science Monitor — was present at the Cairo sentencing and posted a video of the Al Jazeera journalists’ reactions.
3. Fahmy can be heard shouting, “They will pay for this, I promise they will pay for this,” after police dragged him from the cage in the courtroom.
A man can also be seen trying to block Loveluck’s camera from recording.
