Brazilian beer company Itaipava recently released a video encouraging viewers to use the hashtag #ficaverão (meaning: please, stay Summer).
The company also appeared to have created a Twitter bot that automatically replies to all uses of the hashtag, thanking the user and asking them to support the campaign.
Even if the tweets are extremely negative.
Some people took the opportunity to highlight the superiority of winter over summer.
Other Twitter users used the opportunity to express their opinions on the beer's taste.
The company also received huge amounts of criticism for the sexist nature of the campaign.
Some brands, no matter where you go in the world, still apparently have no idea how to use Twitter.
BuzzFeed has reached out to Itaipava for a comment following the backlash. If we receive a reply we will update this post.
