Golden week is a series of public holidays in Japan that fall from the end of April to the beginning of May.
Some companies close over this period, or people choose to take paid leave from work. But many workers have to continue their jobs through the week.
Those without a holiday break are now receiving support from Twitter.
Japanese Twitter users — mostly cosplayers— started using the hashtag #TLに太ももを晒してサラリーマンに活力を与えよう, which roughly translates to "#ShowLegToShowSupportForSalarymen."
The hashtag quickly inspired legs of all shapes and sizes to come out in support for workers.
Even animals were feeling their cramped office pain.
Truly, a thigh for everyone
Now, hundreds of Japanese tweeters are trolling the hashtag.
