1. This is a 29-year-old man convicted in Shiraz, Iran, of being part of a 10-member burglary gang.
2. His sentence is three years in prison, confiscation of property, and the amputation of three fingers.
3. Last Thursday, his amputation was carried out in Shiraz’s public square.
4. The Telegraph reports that afterward, Shiraz’s public prosecutor Ali Alghasi announced criminal sentences will become more severe.

2. Iran
3. Saudi Arabia
4. USA

klrorca 3 months agoI also do not agree with the death penalty. While US has it’s own share of issues like the death penalty, no way for an x offender to re-introduce themselves into society, people getting punished way more harshly than the crime, etc. It comes no where close to this level. I did not imply, I outright still state, that even with these issues , the USA and other civilized first world countries do not even come CLOSE to this type of behavior. A band saw, in public, etc. That you can even compare the two shows how out of touch you really are. Even our own death penalty, however much I dislike it, they first put the prisoner under a general anesthetic, then stop the heart. Go to sleep.. never wake up.. is a long and far cry from taking your hand and running through a band-saw, in public, with people jeering, for a relatively minor offence. If you can’t understand the difference, there is little to no hope for you.

Really? This is your argument? That westerners with little to no need to ever learn the difference between Farsi and Arabic script that look almost identical for people outside the culture / geographic are is somehow a grievous error? So if I used Simplified Indochinese vr. traditional, or heck even Japanese or maybe even Korean, you could tell the difference without an issue? I think not, you just wanted to show off that you had a bit more knowledge about this than the average Joe. Really pathetic.
