The gunman who shot and killed Trayvon Martin hasn’t had his side of the story released to the public…until now. This is the Orlando Sentinel’s account of what George Zimmerman told police.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. I am SO sick of people using “he wasn’t an angel” as an excuse for him being dead! What did he do that he deserved to die? The evidence shows that he was unarmed. The evidence shows that Zimmerman stalked him and that Martin was creeped out by a strange dude. No, we don’t know who confronted who, but we do know that Zimmerman caused the death of a young man. He needs to pay for it with his freedom. I don’t give a shit if Martin smoked weed or had gold in his mouth. Does that justify his death? No. Fucking humans. You people really disappoint me.

did you guys know that the kid is 6’3.All the pics they show are of him when he was younger.Also he doesnt have a clean record as someone stated earlier.He was suspended for haveing drugs at school at the time of his death.There are at least 3 witness’s including a 13 yr old teen that saw him ontop of him beating him.And id like to add that when i was 19,i am a female,that i noked out a 35 year old male that was attacking me.So i think once again everyone is judging a book by its cover….hmmm now whos racist?
unfortunately the coon comment is up for debate. different people have heard different things and often if people are told what to expect they often hear it whether or not it’s what was said. kind of like that social experiment where people get on an elevator and all face the wrong way. the unwitting random person that gets on usually faces the wrong way too. either way, do words excuse violence? so what if zimmerman made a racial remark to martin, does that make it ok for martin to physically attack zimmerman? it’s like with small children, if suzie called you a poopie-head does that make you a poopie-head. no. i am in no way excusing zimmerman IF he made a racial remark. certainly i do not think that it is ok to do that sort of thing, but to respond with physical violence is also not ok. people need to learn to deal with the fact that other people will not like them for some reason or another. if we were all the same color, you’d still have skinny v.s. fat or brown eyes v.s. green or rich v.s. poor or south side v.s. north. people seem to want to feel “better” than someone else so they often make up some reason (in their mind) as to why they are better. the problem is the other people play into it. as for his “violent history” does anyone know the story behind that or are we just assuming it because it fits into how we want to tell the story? does one fight make a person a violent person? if so, then by zimmerman’s account mr. martin was a violent person. not that it makes things any better or any different.
that was a statement made off-record, therefore only as good as zimmerman’s word. and judging by his “fucking c**n” comment, i’m not going believe it wasn’t verbally provoked. at the end of the day it’s a potential murderer’s word with a violent history against a dead kid with a clean record. zimmerman does not have my sympathy.
but zimmerman states martin attacked him as he went back to his vehicle. if that’s the case then martin would be the aggressor and zimmerman would seemingly be protected by the stand your ground law.
i just don’t see why he went against a 911 dispatcher telling him to leave the situation alone. 911 is for emergencies. if an unarmed kid looked suspicious, call it in and let the cops handle it. had he just listened, this kid would be alive and he wouldn’t be under public fire. he had previous assault charges and was still able to be a part of a neighborhood public watch AND own a firearm. seriously?
i hate to play devil’s advocate but to those of you who need to see photos of a beat up zimmerman to believe his story, have you seen photos of martin to believe that side? what makes you believe one side over the other? you are all so willing to take martin’s story at face value but not zimmerman’s with little to no evidence either way. we currently have 18 year olds fighting a war in Afghanistan and Iraq but a 17 year old can’t fight another person on the streets of Florida? keep in mind the duke lacross incident where everyone wanted those players at the end of a rope but then the evidence found they were innocent. things are not always what they seem. you can’t judge a book by its cover. zimmerman was not arrested because according to the investigation he did not violate the law. that is not to say that should the investigation later find that mr. zimmerman was wrong he could not be brought back in. but is it not better to protect someone’s freedom if evidence at the time shows he was right? perhaps the law is unjust, not the person who followed it. whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? i do have to ask why the only photo of zimmerman going around is of him in a jail uniform. even in criminal court the accused are put in civilian clothes to avoid the perception of them as a criminal before the trial even starts. the truth is only two people know exactly what happened and one of them, sadly, is mr. martin. the rest of us are left with only tidbits and are expected to figure it all out. one way or another justice will be done. remember, an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. that applies to mr. zimmerman just as much as it applies to mr. martin. wait until all of the evidence is gathered and then look at it with an open mind. if you were being accused of breaking a law you’d hope the jury would do the same.
Let’s not forget the duke lacrosse incident. This incident wouldn’t have even made anyone bat an eye if the kid wasn’t black or if Zimmerman was black. People think they can just pull the race card all the time with anything and get results, it’s getting old and pathetic.
Other than the jurors, when they get access to all evidence, who hear all witnesses and can assess their credibility first hand. Everyone else is jumping to conclusions. Whether you’re supporting one or the other, you’re pretty much looking for a snipped here or there to support what you already thought.
Best thing we can all say: Let’s hope justice is done.
