Practical uses?? Oh, come ON Jack! The iPad is only, like, THE most practical more-or-less flat thing EVER. Just the past weekend, I hosted a wonderful dinner party at which my guests dined on a delicious twice-roasted Quorn loaf, served on a bed of savory bread stuffing laced with crumbled bacon and liberally moistened with goose fat. The Julia-Child-esque stuffing description lent the party a certain formal elegance, but none of us would have been able to avoid being sick had we actually been confronted with Quorn on what amounted to a layer of goose fat-soaked carb sponges tossed with remains of a dismembered and partially incinerated pig. I was able to solve this daunting dinner party dilemma when I realized that my iPad could double as a versatile serving platter and side-dish simulator. When I brought the lovely Quorn loaf out to the table for my guests, it lay nestled in a jpeg of bread bits and animal remains instead of the real thing—the perfect solution! The iPad supplied all of the elegance with none of the tears and retching that would have been necessary before. And, its oleophobic screen is nonstick for super easy cleanup! Truly, the geniuses at Apple are light-years ahead of the pack when it comes to dreaming up the next generation of multi-function technology!
