This lawsuit is so amazingly frivolous that it almost makes the whole Twitter thing interesting again - I kind of hope this starts a trend. Amanda Bonnen (who up until she canceled her Twitter account had 20 followers) is reportedly being sued by Horizon Realty for “maliciously and wrongfully” publishing a tweet that may have damaged the company’s reputation. Check out the offending tweet.

I really can’t wait for the court to throw the case out and force Horizon Realty to pay for Amanda’s legal fees.
The tweet’s insignificance pales next to the quote from the company spokesman in the Sun Times article: “We’re a sue first, ask questions later kind of an organization,” he said, noting that the company manages 1,500 apartments in Chicago and has a good reputation it wants to preserve.
It’s not like she said “The proprietors of Horizon Realty like to kill and eat babies as part of the Satanic orgy rituals they perform in attempts to grant themselves unholy eternal life”. I mean, that would be malicious and wrong. What? Sue me.
This has got to be a ploy for publicity. There’s no way this would hold up in court.
Oh, they’re so toast. And they’re probably going to be ordered to fix the mold, too.
