Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation Of Plane On J.F.K. Airport Runway

Passengers were taken off the American Airlines flight from Barcelona after an unspecified threat was made. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Passengers onboard an incoming flight from Barcelona have made an emergency deplaning at New York's J.F.K. airport after an unspecified bomb threat was made.

Passengers were taken onto buses waiting on the runway after American Airlines flight 67 landed safely.

A New York Fire Department spokesman told BuzzFeed News that crews were standing by as a precaution on the request of the Port Authority, which oversees the city's airports.

Passengers reported on social media that the exit was orderly and no one was injured.

Sniffer dogs are said to be searching the plane:

Passengers also say they have been told that a ransom was demanded.

PA police suggested this threat may have been tied to a demand for money.
