Social Media FAIL Of The Week
UK supermarket chain Tesco, the focal point of the horse meat burger scandal, tweeted this on Thursday.
Just, neigh. I mean, nay.
And, the apology.
To their credit, they haven’t deleted the original tweet.
Previous social media fuck up of the week.

geraldinemargaretb 4 months agoIt’s the fact that we are being led to believe that it’s 100% Irish Beef when really they are importing beef into Ireland and putting no warning of what it is we are really eating! They done these tests in Oct/Nov 2012 but only released the contamination last week?? Irish beef is one of our biggest exports and its people are eating meat that isn’t irish and is contaminated with horse meat and pork??? If these were put on the label for all to see then people could choose wether to buy it or not!! But our government will make excuses and the companies involved will get a slap on the wrist and that will be all!

FlickMontana 4 months agoIt’s packaged by the 100% Irish Beef Corp. Same thing with the 100% Pure Beef corp and McD’s in America. It’s the name of the supplier, not a description of the product.

Kte McA 4 months agoThough I understand the indirect correlation to horses because they consume hay, cows do as well. Along with a variety of other livestock. Their apology was kind. Maybe cut them some slack for this one. (In no way does this mean I think eating horses or lying about products is okay.)

primavolta 4 months agoI don’t really know anything about this story, but as far as I know there’s nothing wrong with eating horse meat, but there is something wrong with selling horse meat as, say, cattle meat. Also, horse meat would NOT be kosher because they do not have split hooves and they do not chew their cud. I personally would not eat horse meat, but I’m really past judging what kinds of meat people eat as long as they’re not eating other people. I think we’re sentimental about a lot of animals because of their history as human companions, but eating a cow or a pig is not somehow morally superior to eating a dog.

FlickMontana 4 months agoThe only thing wrong is being sold something you’re told is something else. Otherwise, horsemeat is fine. (No idea if Kosher either).
