In 2008 presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney donated $10,000 through his PAC to the National Organization for Marriage to help in their efforts to pass California’s Proposition 8, which reversed the state court’s decision to legalize gay marriage. Here are three ads Romney helped pay for.

BlogoliticalSean a year agoAs the father of four children who disappeared into Utah 16 years ago in a Mormon abduction, I’m going to have much to say about Mitt Romney throughout the campaign. Thanks to the Mormons who kidnapped my children and put them through a forced immersion that led to the death of my son Aaron Cruz, Oregon has become the first and only state in the nation where child abduction creates a civil cause of action. Senator Gordly’s landmark kidnapping statute, Senate Bill 1041, immediately became known as “Aaron’s Law”, as it passed on a dramatic end-of-session unanimous House vote not long after his death in Payson, Utah. The LDS church does not recognize religious freedom. You disagree, you pay a penalty Should you suffer the terrible fortune of having your son or daughter marry into the Romney (or any other Mormon) family, say goodbye to any plans you ever had of attending your own child’s wedding. They’ll make you wait outside. The Mormons will force your child to choose the sect over your family. It’s one thing to believe something as an aspect of religion, and in that regard we are ostensibly all free to believe practically anything, but that freedom ends where a person or a congregation acts on its beliefs, enforcing its “no contact” rules on children caught in the middle, for example. When those actions involve the severing of families and child abuse, the Mormon church must be held accountable.

Happy a year agoI don’t think being gay is OK nor do I agree with gay marriage. Thats MY opinion and my belief. HOWEVER I also do not think it is the Governments job to decide who can or cannot get married. So basically Im not FOR gay marriage, yet I dont think the government has the right to mandate things based on religious beliefs.

In some Red States given the right financial backing and pulpit support, interracial marriage could be banned by “the people”. It’s not up to politicians or ignorant people to decide who gets full access to civil rights in this country. Why doesn’t the Supreme Court end this constant loop of bans and legalizations? When the only argument against gay marriage is “it’s a sin” - where does the Bible come into play in the Constitution? I believe there is a first amendment about government not sanctioning one religious idea on the people as a whole.

Villain a year agoYeah, because when I was taught about WWII, I became a Nazi… When will people learn, you can’t teach attraction…you can’t even force attraction…It’s like me trying to teach my son to play football, when he loves basketball. He’s attracted to basketball. I could force him or even guilt him into playing football, but he would hate it and be miserable… Learning about homosexuality will not make you gay!!!!!
