Ron Paul: If I Was In Charge The People Killed on 9/11 Would Still Be Alive
At a speech today in the Sun Dome at the University of South Florida ahead of the Republican convention, the Libertarian former Republican presidential candidate said if he had been in charge 9/11 wouldn’t have occurred. “Somebody — rather nationally —- said the other day on the Internet ‘if those Paul people had been in charge Osama Bin Laden would still be alive.’ But you know what I think the answer is? So would the 3000 people killed on 9/11 still be alive!”

Not true…we blocked oil from getting into Japan. That shit means war when u do that. We force them to open up trade on the point of warship cannons. Plus some other crap…so they had a reason for attacking. They didn’t wake up one day and thought, “is kinda calm around here, let’s bomb america. “ -

He was referring to his view on military deployments and bases in other countries. He would have not had bases in the middle east or gotten involve into conflicts there. He is against implementing regime change. So all of the reasons the terrorist had to attack America would not have existed…..the man may sound crazy to people but study what he Saids and he is much wiser than he is given credit for. I don’t agree with everything he Saids, I’m not a librarian but this dude was warning people about the 2008 collapse in 2001.

Kee L. 8 months agoAs long as we remember that it was the incompetence and failures of the *bush administration that allowed 9-11 to happen to begin with, and their failures and incompetence that failed to get Bin Laden. Their failures and incompetence that spent hundreds of billions (much of it simply lost or stolen by bush admin cronies and other criminals) of two failed wars, and led to the near collapse of the world-wide economy. The reality is that anybody, ANYBODY, would have done a better job than *bush and his gang of crooks and fools.

oh_the_hugh_manatee 8 months agoEven if it were true….for the sake of argument…that he could have prevented the attacks. So what? What’s the point in being Captain Hindsight? How about we focus on the present, not changing the past. It won’t bring anyone back from the dead to theorize what could have happened if he could go back in time.

They don’t consider that hindsight should NEVER be considered a promotional tool. it’s always: “we’re right, you’re all idiots!” no conversation. no discord. nothing, just anger…bitter bitter anger. strange.

Not a fan. But, if he’d been president, and if Paul had been willing to actually read urgent, classified, high-priority memos addressed to him, then on August 1, 2001, he would have read the one addressed to the POTUS titled, “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US.” You know, the one that mentioned the World Trade Center in the second sentence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bin_Ladin_Determined_To_Strike_in_US And then, having actually read it, maybe he could have actually done something to prevent it. cjm2 8 months agoTotal interventionism doesn’t work, but non-interventionism doesn’t either. Look at Pearl Harbor. We wanted to not be involved but we were attacked. We were not at war when the attacks came. We received the declaration of war from Japan 3 hours after the attack. Ron Paul is just a complete nutter

What he’s suggesting is, that since the 911 terrorist attacks were the result of “blow-back” from prior US involvement in the Middle-East, and since he believe in non-interventionist policies, the motivation for the attacks would not have been there had he and his supporters been in charge.
