Has this guy said anything about something other than social issues? Every time I see this blowhard on TV he's saying something about how women and gays are basically sub-human. What makes it even worse is that there are people out there that actually agree with this jerk. I weep for society.

I find it funny that Santorum answers questions with irrelevant, pointless questions. It's insulting to our intelligence, and it's a cop-out. He's basically saying, I don't know the answer to this, and since he doesn't want to come out and say that directly, he's going to answer with question that divert attention away from the topic at hand. And, as the interview progresses, if that doesn't work, he's just going to make stuff up.

How would the christians like it if an atheist candidate proposed a law to get rid of marriage and just allowed civil unions because they hate anything to do with christians and their traditions?

Santorum's a jerk, but the interviewer is totally useless too. Why can't he answer the question about polygamy?  The ugly truth is that it wouldn't affect anyone if siblings could marry, or if polygamists had a legal framework to work within. The examples of abuse and exploitation occur in these compounds precisely because polygamy is driven underground and illegal.  It's both hilarious and disheartening to hear marriage equality campaigners using the same empty arguments against polygamy that are used against gays.

I feel like Santorum is just a sexy nominee to the far right, fringe Republicans and evangelicals. (Read as: The Tea Party) He is so far right, I don't know how any self-respecting moderate or independent could stomach voting for him.

It's like the republicans just don't want to win. Somebody on that side has to know that this is assbackwards talk that sets civilization back a century right? HOW DOES THIS EXIST?!?

Ok, all Santorum puns aside. This is serious. How fucked up is our country right now, that someone like Santorum is an actual possibility. This is sad and frightening. The fact that he has followers that aren't family members is really appalling.

“Marriage has remained the same for centuries” It was just a few years ago that a black and a white person couldn't marry, Mr Santorum. Marriage is evolving for the better. Just let people be happy.
