Cinnamon Broom 6 months ago@brianc37 Of course it still happens today. The President makes calls every day offering condolences/congratulations to legislators and dignitaries and the like. It’s a daily thing on the floor of the Senate too, for the party leaders to acknowledge and/or praise members across the aisle on momentous occasions.
