Mayor Michael Nutter didn’t think too highly of the NRA’s response to the Newtown massacre. The city of Philadelphia recently fired 91 school police officers.

The president has armed security. The senators that write these anti gun bills have armed security. Our banks are important enough to have armed security. Countries all over the world have their schools guarded with armed security. It wasn’t a dumb idea. It was a rational proposition that has been implemented all over the world. When are you people going to understand that you can’t fight armed murderers with an 8”x10” sign?! -

Darr247 4 months agoWell, at least he didn’t call them “automatics” like the CBS report did during their segment on the LA buyback program. Schieffer calls them that nearly every Sunday, too. The misnomer “clips” (when they mean “magazines”) comes from speedloaders used for revolvers, by the way (for budding etymologists).

johnh69 4 months agoWe can’t even do a good enough job of screening teachers. Every year, we learn about (mostly female) teachers sleeping with students. We can’t screen Army psychiatrists. (Remember Ft. Hood?) We can’t screen cops. Lots of controversial shootings of unarmed people by cops every year. (They nearly always get off.) All it takes is a few bad choices of armed school guards, and the fox is right in the hen house. Not worth it.
