Newt In 1988: Bush Won’t Win If He Runs To Continue Reaganism
Newt Gingrich has been touting service in the House under Ronald Reagan. In 1988, he warned George H. W. Bush not to run as “a continuation of Reaganism.” Update Dan Riehl has the entire clip, which also shows Gingrich praising Reaganism. The extended video puts the entire clip in full context, but this still the most interesting part.

Newts Army a year agoThe GOOD OLD BOYS and Elite Media Guards of the Failed GOP have come out again to support another Failed GOP candidate, Mitt Romney.
They think that all they need is more attack ads, more attack ads, more attack ads, more attack ads, more attack ads, more attack ads……! “Greed (money) is the root of all evil”. You know who they are! -

edwardb3 a year agoI was for Newt at first, in fact I bet some money he would get the nomination, but every day something new comes out on him. I think Florida needs to make sure he doesn’t beat Romeny because if Gingrich becomes the nominee it will be a ticket for a Communist takeover. I will pay my bet gladly if Newt is not the nominee.

henrylouisg a year agoWow, a minute clip in which someone other than Newt speaks the majority of and then when Newt does speak is cut off mid-sentence. I’m a huge fan of Reagan but I don’t see this as disparaging of him in any way. He was simply saying that Bush needed to run as his own man, confronting the issues of the day, which in 1988 were much different than in 1980. Duh.

A. Gee a year agoI’m skeptical of Newt, but I don’t think that this video shows him bashing Reagan. He was commenting on how fickle the American public is. He was off by 4 years, when Bush lost to Clinton. At that time, the narrative from the media was how terrible the last 12 years of Reagan/Bush was, even though it was the period of the largest increase in GDP at that time. Voters were fickle.

stevej15 a year agoYou can see how Newt Gingrich really hasn’t changed very much by the way he is talking these days, he is a hateful man ready to pop, at least we know how he actually IS, Newt can say he is sorry again, he is at peace about the following: Wife #1 and #2 Newt proposed to Marianne (she was 28, he 36) in 1980 while his first wife, Jackie, was in the hospital recovering from treatments for uterine cancer. He hadn’t yet even asked her for a divorce. Newt met Jackie in high school. She was his geometry teacher. He was sixteen, she was 25. When he left, Jackie was nearly destitute. Jackie, the Esquire story reports, “had to get a court order just to pay her utility bills.” Wife #2 and #3 Callista Bisek, Gingrich’s current wife, became his mistress first and his wife second (really third, if one is counting wives), while Marianne was home visiting her mother. In 1999, Marianne had just been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Newt asked Callista to marry him before he and Marianne had agreed to divorce. The affair had been going on for years. Newt compared Marianne to a “Jaguar” and Callista to a “Chevrolet” and said he needed a Chevrolet, not a Jaguar, according to the Esquire story. In 2000 the couple wed. Sometimes it’s hard for a Leopard to loose their spots He is embarrassing as a guy
