In 2009, Dede Scozzafava ran in NY-23 to replace John McHugh. She eventually dropped and endorsed Bill Owens over Doug Hoffman. Last year, Kathy Hochul beat Jane Corwin in NY-26 to replace the infamous Chris Lee.
