Man At Romney Rally Wears Mindblowingly Offensive Shirt
The Getty Images photo was taken at a Romney/Ryan campaign event in Lancaster, Ohio on Friday. A Romney spokesperson commented that the shirt was “reprehensible and has no place in this election.”
Update Jamie Sabau, the Getty photographer who took the photo tells BuzzFeed the photo “was taken inside the rally, not taken in line” as some have questioned.
Update 2 Jodi Einhorn, manager of public relations for Getty Images also confirms “that contributing photographer Jamie Sabau shot the image in Lancaster, OH during a rally for Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Republican vice presidential candidate Representative Paul Ryan.”

gingersaurusRex 7 months agoi identify as a moderate, with some conservative beliefs and some liberal beliefs. with friends identifying at all ends of the spectrum, i have learned that there are good and bad eggs from both sides. the issue becomes the “vocal minority,” which is what this image - and many news reports etc - depicts. not all conservatives are delusional racist bigots. not all liberals are socialist hippies. everyone needs to calm down and focus on what really matters, which is clearly not the race or religion of our president and candidates.

DelGriffith 7 months agoBy furthering affirmative action projects that promote minorities over whites regardless of economic background, couldn’t the argument be made that liberals passively acknowledge and assign a negative bias to minorities when compared to whites? The main difference between conservatives and liberals with regards to racism is that conservatives tend to more commonly wear it on their sleeves… or their backs, in this case.

The nuts at Breitbart are mad at Getty for not instantly assuming this was a liberal conspiracy. Fine, jerks, I see your “liberal plant” card and I raise you Floyd Lee Corkins, the supposed homosexual FRC shooter who managed to only fire one bullet, hit a guy in the arm, be subdued by a one-armed man, attended an uber-Christian school, known by no one in the gay community, has no photos at Pride parades, has no record of violence or hatred towards “Christian” or “family” or “marriage” groups, but yet clearly stated he “did not like their politics” and was on a mission to murder all of them. You want to open the door to nutty theories? Let’s see you run a mile with that one.

WhatTheHolyHeck 7 months agoHuh. Was he asked to leave, or maybe even arrested like those folks who asked non-insulting questions at a paid Ryan event, or the guy who wore a shirt critical of (but not offensive to) Cheney?

Where’s the original photo, then? It’s pretty easy to identify a photoshop using Google Images nowadays. And nevermind the fact that Getty Images confirmed it’s legit. Occam’s razor.
