During the Republican primary campaign, presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s favorite criticism of his former rival Rick Santorum was his time as a prolific earmarker. But in a 2004 speech Romney thanks former Senator Bob Bennett of for providing “several hundred million dollars in help,” referring to federal funding to bailout the 2002 Olympics.
