midnightmax00 3 months agoWhy is it in every post I read that someone who is pro gun ban has to be almost insulting and piling all the anti gun ban people into either a redneck or moron category. I own several firearms, I am totally sane, not a redneck, not afraid of a tyrannical government, and not a moron. I enjoy target shooting and believe that there should be some sort of action taken but creating a list of firearms you want to ban based off of no knowledge of them aside from what they look like sounds a little stupid to me. I’m all for lower magazine capacity but against an all out ban based on the model of firearm

calebh3 3 months agoHere’s my thing about all of you up in arms about your second amendment being impinged upon (which is isn’t really):
Where were you when the Patriot Act essentially eliminated the 4th Amendment (Search and Seizure—way more important than 2 by a long shot) or when the Bush Administration started creating “1st amendment zones” therefore curbing our most important amendment.
I just think you guys are super inconsistent and not fighting for the most important rights we have. -

Don’t believe what you see online and on television. It’s mostly scarecrow tactics. If a network has a bias, don’t look for actual credible opponents. Only the opposing hacks get booked. If a network promotes the patriot act, they’ll book a soft, non-threatening guest to provide tiresome rhetoric as opposition. If the network wants a gun and self-defense ban, they’ll book a stereotypical wing nut to make themselves look good. Now about the ban proposal, prohibition and the ‘war on drugs’ sure did wonders for alcohol, drugs, and weapons, didn’t they?

I love how all of the Constitutional scholars surface in the comments thread (especially the Facebook one) of Buzzfeed. Great to see such a thorough understanding of the Constitution by such a large amount of people! /sarcasm For my own part, while I am no Constitutional scholar, I say good for Congresswoman Feinstein. Furthermore, I don’t quite understand the argument that pro-gun advocates continue to make when discussing the subject of gun control. The specific argument I am talking about is: “Ohmagerd, without our semi-auto copies of military grade weapons (side note, former military leaders have agreed that these weapons shouldn’t belong in the hands of civilians), we will surely fall victim to a tyrannical gubmint! Who will protect us when they take away our guns?!” What exactly do you think your little rifles will do against the United States? I don’t think you understand the strength of the United States military. Oh, but so many gun advocates are simultaneously living in fear of our government but proud of our strong military? And pro-gun Republicans also refuse to touch the military budget and scale it down? That confounds me! A bunch of civs with rifles would be crushed by the US government if they tried to revolt- er, “protect themselves from tyrants”. Even if military personnel refused to fight against civilians, the government will still crush them, as they no longer need boots on the ground to do their work. They can press some buttons, send an unmanned robot through the skies and rain death upon whoever they so chose. But, we NEED GUNS to protect us from the government. The time has already come and gone where first world government could be violently overthrown by the people. And don’t even get me started on why “We NEED more than ten rounds!”

Winrdie in Kentucky’s 5th District I support H.R. 410 (“To provide that any executive action infringing on the Second Amendment has no force because any attempt to control or deny 2nd amendment rights by the Liberal / Socialistic Congressional members are in violation of their “Oath to Protect and Defend” said rights’ and those in violation of their oath should be immediately removed, by force if necessary and replaced by a person who would abide by their sworn oath. Penalty for such actions should be immediate removal with total loss of all accrue pay and retirement benefits.

Benjamin Sapiens 3 months agoI don’t actually know enough about guns and gun crime to know whether or not this is actually a good idea … but I’m going to have to give it my approval for now, because it deserves consideration and because the gun nuts are so hell-bent to shooting it down before it ever leaves the hanger. Honestly, though, I’d almost support this kind of ban for no other reason that to spit in the eyes of all those screaming right-wing gun-loving douchebags who love their precious firearms more than they care about the lives of their fellow human beings.

christianh4 3 months agoFrankly, this list doesn’t go nearly far enough. The only guns that have any legitimate value are hunting rifles. If you own anything else, whether it’s an AK-47 or a handgun, you have only one intention: To kill other human beings.

tanal 3 months agoI have handguns so that if I ever get into a life or death situation, I can protect myself. Because let’s face it, a 120 lbs girl can’t do much against a big man. I have never even thought about killing another human being, unless they are trying to kill me. Example: Every woman who has been raped and beaten or kidnapped, or murdered. Sherry Arnold in Sidney, Montana, if she would have been packing, she would have never went missing or found dead. Do some research before making untrue statements!
