Fox and Friends said the “third Monday in January” is “most depressing day of the year.” The notion of Blue Monday, however, is based in a discredited marketing campaign. Oh also: It’s Barack Obama’s inauguration!

therblig 3 months agoi was off yesterday, got in a nice bike ride, celebrated the peaceful transition of power that is the presidential inauguration, and spent quality time with my family. can’t really say it was anything but a good day. then again, i never watch fox news, so every day starts off pretty good.

amjensen410 3 months agoI hate Fox News as much as the next smart person but I didn’t see a political agenda in this piece. I can see how they arrived at the third Monday in January for the most depressing day. It’s a Monday, which is already depressing, it’s smack in the middle of winter (it was -9 degrees here yesterday), all the fun holidays are over, and everyone’s coming to the realization that January 1st didn’t usher in some new, magical era and this year’s going to be the same old shit.

Rather than focus on the good that is going to be done in this term of President Obama’s administration the folks at FuxSnooze have chosen instead to focus on their defeat at the polls on Nov. 6. This fixation with the loss of the Presidency is going to cloud the judgment of those who proclaim themselves “conservative,” for the next 4 years. Yet the majority of the people have chosen to work for and strive for a better tomorrow. This of course has given the management of FuxSnooze pause to think on what could have been, a theocracy of the worst kind. Yet America has resoundingly repudiated the agenda of the Christian Republican Party for one of hope and change. So with that in mind, we the people, chose our President not only for today but for tomorrow.

danf18 3 months agoOh, so the propaganda arm of the GOP is sad today, huh? I guess that’s part of the fair and balanced “news” they broadcast. By the way, tinfoil hat people: Sneering “Today, this President..” in a snotty tone is not broadcasting news. When a Republican President is elected, he will be able to do no wrong in the eyes of Fox “News”, as he will be white, male, excessively conservative, a zealous Christian, and uber wealthy, everything they love about Murica.
