Four Times Obama Promised To End No Bid Contracts

Senator Barack Obama campaigned loudly to put a stop to no-bid government contracts in 2008 and blasted the Bush Administration for giving “sweetheart deals” to companies like Halliburton. As President, the Obama administration has failed to end such contracts and even awarded a $433-million no bid contract for a smallpox vaccine to a company largely owned by longtime Democratic donor.

1. Obama: I will end no bid contracts in my administration, they waste billions of dollars.

2. Obama: Under an Obama administration we will end the abuse of no bid contracts.

3. Obama: I will end the abuse of no bid contracts for good.

4. Obama: I’ll end no bid contracts once and for all. The days of sweetheart deals are over.
