The Pakistani military said it killed one of the masterminds behind the Army Public School massacre earlier this month that killed at least 132 children, multiple media outlets reported.

Shahab Ali Shah, head of police administration in Khyber, said security forces raided an area and had a gun battle with Saddam, a militant commander and his associates, CBS News reported.

Saddam, the official said, helped plan the Peshawar massacre, CBS reported. Six of his aides were also killed.

The Washington Post called Saddam a Taliban commander. The Taliban took responsibility for the school attack.
