Nurse Quarantined For Ebola Blasts Chris Christie For Vaccination Comments

Kaci Hickox, who was forcibly quarantined in New Jersey, called the governor's recent statements about vaccinations "ill informed."

In an interview on MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes, Hickox said that Christie was "ignoring science" again when he said parents should have some choice in vaccinating their children.

Hickox, who had publicly lashed out at Christie for quarantining her against her will last year, was referring to the governor's controversial comments that came amid a large, ongoing measles outbreak in the country.

"I think this is a good example of Governor Christie's making some very ill-informed statements," Hickox told Hayes. "We heard it a lot during the Ebola discussion and now it seems to have happened again, making these statements about vaccines and sort of balancing parental choice."

She also said Christie, a 2016 presidential hopeful, doesn't have "a lot of great leadership qualities in him."

"I think the unfortunate thing or the scary thing is that I want a leader who consults experts and thinks about sort of all of the different sides to an issue before making statements and -- and policies that are unfounded in science," Hickox said in the interview.

She called for the need to advocate for vaccine saying the measles outbreak was a "real threat in America today." She said that it seemed Christie was making statements without consulting medical and public health experts.

"Again, he's going against science," she said.

Christie's office didn't immediately return a request for comment.
