A Soldier Traveled 22 Hours From The Middle East To Surprise His Wife And Newborn In The Maternity Ward

This is a super cute story.

National Guard soldier John Vorrath was stationed in the Middle East and had to watch via FaceTime as his wife Janae give birth to their second child Charlotte.

Unknown to Janae, however, as John watched he was slipped a note saying his request for leave had been granted. After a 22 hour trip, John landed in Iowa and was able to make it to Mary Greeley Medical Center where Janae was recuperating.

In the super cute video uploaded by Chris Reif, John sneaks into Janae's room and totally catches her off-guard.

And there is lots of hugging.

And crying.

And more crying.

And more hugging.

Oh, but it gets even better! A couple minutes later, John's two-year-old son walks into the room.

And there's even more hugging!

Watch the whole, adorable thing.
