Two Trains Collide Head-On In Switzerland, At Least 40 Injured

This is the third major European mass transportation crash in one week.

1. Two commuters trains collided head-on Monday near the Granges-près-Marnand station in Western Switzerland, a Swiss Railways spokesman says.

2. As many as 44 people were injured in the crash, four seriously, local media is reporting.

3. The driver of one of the trains died in the crash and his body was found in the wreckage early Tuesday morning, BBC reports. The other driver is among the injured, too.

4. This is the third mass transportation accident in Europe in the past week after a bus crash in Italy left 38 dead on Sunday and a train derailment in Spain killed 79 last week.
