Google unveiled its drone-delivery service called "Project Wing" on Thursday to the Atlantic.
Google said its longterm goal for drones is to be able to quickly deliver disaster relief and other materials in emergency situations to isolated ares.
Google said eventually it might use the drones to deliver goods to consumers, which is an idea already in the works by Amazon.
Amazon has asked the Federal Aviation Administration for permission to fly drone tests, and the U.S. Senate has held hearings to consider the future of drones.
