The women were described as "minging," or disgusting, and called racial epithets.

The players then shared the video with friends back in the U.K., according to the Sunday Mirror.

On Sunday, Leicester City released a statement saying it was "deeply concerned" about the players' conduct, which was being treated "extremely seriously."

"Following a preliminary meeting in consultation with the three players earlier today, the players involved in the incident are now returning to the U.K., in advance of the rest of the squad," the statement read.

The three players, one of whom is the son of manager Nigel Pearson, will also be formally investigated by the club.

"Tom Hopper, James Pearson, and Adam Smith would like to convey their sincere apologies for their behaviour — to the women involved in the incident, to the Club and its owners, to the Club's fans and to their families," a Leicester City spokesperson said.

At least two of the players appeared to have deleted their Twitter accounts following the revelations.

The football club is owned by Thai billionaires Vichai and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.

The team was in Thailand celebrating, having secured a place in the Premier League last weekend.
