The Channel Tunnel, which connects France and the U.K., was closed Saturday after smoke was detected, forcing the suspension of Eurostar train services between the two countries.
"We are sorry but we are unable to run any further trains today because Eurotunnel has been closed due to smoke detected in the north tunnel," Eurostar said in a statement on its website.
"If you were planning to travel today, we advise you to postpone your journey and not to come to the station. "
Police in Kent, England, told the BBC that a truck had caught fire on the French side of the tunnel, with the blaze being handled by French authorities.
No one was injured in the fire, the BBC reported.
Huge lines were reported at London's Kings Cross St. Pancras station, with passengers forced to make alternative travel plans.
