    Romney Campaign Embraces Square

    The medium is the message.

TAMPA — Mitt Romney's presidential campaign is embracing the mobile payment system Square to allow delegates and visitors to make donations and buy souvenirs at the Republican National Convention next week.

"We are excited to be the first Presidential campaign to make serious use of Square devices at a major event like a national convention." said Romney for President digital director Zac Moffatt. "More importantly, we are excited to empower a national grassroots movement by providing each attendee the ability to take their Square devices back to their home state and engage with their communities."

The campaign is distributing Romney-branded Square credit card readers at the convention, as well as to all campaign offices across the country.
