A new video from Newt Gingrich’s campaign titled “The French Connection” compares Republican front-runner Mitt Romney to 2004 Democratic nominee John Kerry.
Juxtaposing footage of Kerry windsurfing and Romney speaking French, the Gingrich attack ad accuses Romney of being a “Massachusetts moderate” who can’t beat President Barack Obama.
”And just like John Kerry — he speaks French, too,” the video says, before cutting to footage of Romney welcoming visitors to the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. Romney served as Mormon missionary in France.
The ad harkens back to Karl Rove’s 2004 line that Kerry “looks French.” The hair’s still perfect!
