I love silver jewelry, but hate that it tarnishes so quickly.

Me, complaining about first-world problems like having to clean my silver jewelry.

I've collected a bunch of pieces over the years, but most of them eventually oxidize and lose their shine, and so I've had to give them a good cleaning before wearing them again. My mom taught me to use toothpaste to clean silver jewelry — but it never quite gets all the tarnish off, and it's super time-consuming.

So I went online and bought this Sabrina Silver silver polishing cloth from Amazon, because it seemed like the easiest option to use and store. It's also much, much cheaper ($7!) than an ultrasonic cleaner.

The cloth has two layers: The cream layer is for cleaning and the blue is for polishing. It's also a generous size, at 12"x15".

The first thing I cleaned off was an old Tiffany's necklace. I hadn't worn it in a couple years, and it was covered in tarnish. After rubbing the piece on the cloth for a minute or two, it literally looked like new again!

I was amazed at how easy it was to use — it's a lot less messy than toothpaste and other cleaning solutions. The cloth is quite soft as well, so I wasn't worried about it scratching any of my jewelry. I read in the instructions that you never have to clean this cloth, and that it lasts for years and years (depending on how much jewelry you polish, of course). It works on other metals too, like gold and brass, though I haven't yet tested it on either of those.

I'm clearly not the only one who's in love with this polishing cloth. There are a ton of reviews (and satisfying before-and-afters) from other Amazon customers as well:

"Large enough for silverware and small enough for delicate jewelry. Arrived in great condition. Cleaned with easy strokes of the cloth. Love it!" —Joe

"I've used silver polishing cloths in the past, but this one is the best so far. For example, look at the photos of my bracelet. I'm not sure what the steel-looking metal is since the bracelet wasn't expensive enough for it to be silver, but it does tarnish. The other two are copper and brass. The cloth did a fabulous job on all three metals! The cloth is large enough that I am considering cutting off a third of it to keep in my jewelry drawer for quick touch-ups. The rest is large enough to clean my few silver pieces and brass candlesticks. I'm really pleased I don't have to drag out the messy polishing cream anymore!" —Kindle Customer

"Over the years, I have been given more sterling silver jewelry than gold. I never knew how to get the tarnish off, and some of my favorite pieces have been too dull to wear. I started researching and found this guy. I love that it's huge, comes with a storable bag, and the instructions of what NOT to use it on. It got one of my pieces in almost-new condition (see photo). The piece even had some discolored spots but after letting it sit after cleaning for a few minutes, even those went away. Very impressed." —Amazon Shopper

"As a watch collector and reseller, this little cloth is an indispensable resource. I use it to shine pieces up before offering them for sale, and it really enhances their presence in my auction listings. Pieces of jewelry that I hadn't been able to sell for weeks sold very rapidly and for more money than I expected after I polished them up with this cloth. It's the real deal. I've attached before-and-after pictures of an 18-karat gold ring I sold literally minutes after polishing it after it sat for close to a month." —pooplover
