    1. A pair of suede moc-style slippers that'll keep their toes warm and look stylish to boot.

    instagram.com

These slippers have a real suede upper and a plush faux-fur lining. The rubber outsole works for both inside and outside.

Promising review: "My search for new slippers was unsuccessful until I found the reviews for Land’s End Suede Moc Slippers. $45+ for SLIPPERS?! But think about it... you work all day, come home, get comfortable, change clothes, and you get to slip into a soft, cozy house shoe. And you stay in them from, what? 6 p.m.–10 p.m.? Then, in the morning, you hit your alarm, begrudgingly push back your warm blankets, and get out of bed. You dread hitting the cold floor — but wait! You have Land’s End Moc Slippers! Slide into the warm, blanket soft slippers and you can leave your room to go make coffee, your feet cozy and toasty. These fit like a dream! They are perfection! They are well made, and I know I will have these for many more years! Well worth the money. Well. Worth. It." —Modern Family

Get them from Amazon for $44.95 (available in women's sizes 6–11 and three colors).

    2. An Instant Pot because once you've experienced the delight of using it, you've just gotta spread the joy.

    Amazon

It's a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, yogurt maker, and food warmer all rolled into one nifty appliance. Check out our review of the Instant Pot!

Promising review: "I have owned my Duo for over a year now, and I have used it at least five times each week. For cooking pasta, it’s a 'set it and forget it' appliance. Dump in pasta, sauce, meatballs, and water. Set the time and go off to fold laundry, pack lunches, or whatever else needs to get done before bed. No more standing over the stove or stirring. Roasts come out great, with potatoes soaking in all the amazing juices at the same time. Cheesecakes are easier than ever. The best part is that there’s no cleanup and no hot kitchen, like cooking with an oven. The stainless steel liner just goes straight into the dishwasher, saving busy families even more precious time. I have since added another Instant Pot to my collection and purchased five as gifts for family and friends." —Elissa Spicer

Get it from Amazon for $65+ (available in three sizes).

    3. A box set containing illustrated editions of the first three Harry Potter books (we're talking large, full-color pages) can have both wizards and muggles spellbound.

    Amazon

Promising review: "Great big heavy hardcovers with nice strong bindings and beautiful full-color illustrations everywhere you care to look. I'm SO glad to have the first three books in a beautiful boxed set like this! My 5-year-old granddaughter and I are gearing up to listen to the first book via Audible, and we plan to follow along with these. It's nice to see such care to the design and production of a quality hardcover gift set. I don't care how many versions of Harry Potter you own. You want/need this one, too." —Reviewer

Get it from Amazon for $71.99.

    4. A luxurious wool and cashmere scarf literally anyone would love to receive.

    Amazon

Promising review: "Love this scarf. It is very light and can be used as a scarf or a wrap. I bought it around the holidays and recently took (and used it) on a business trip. It was the perfect wrap for the conference and easily fit into my bag. You can't beat wool and cashmere! Highly recommend." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $48.55+ (available in five colors).

    5. An attractive cat tree ~purrrfect~ for entertaining your furry friend (who, despite clawing your couch to shreds, still deserves a treat).

    Amazon

Promising review: "I can't explain or describe how much the kitties love this little tree! One loves to lounge and the other loves to scratch. And I love the way it looks! It's beautiful! So many other cat trees look like terrible school projects made from rejected carpet pieces. This is just lovely!" —Erin

Get it from Amazon for $94.49.

    6. A trio of all-natural serums (formulated with hyaluronic acid, retinol, and vitamin C) so they can say, "Dryness, dullness, and breakouts, begone!"

    7. A gorgeous eyeshadow palette filled with versatile neutral shades to work for every occasion.

    Sephora

There are 12 matte and micro-shimmer shades in this lovely palette.

Promising review: "The Tartlette In Bloom is BY FAR the best eye palette I own. It has an amazing combination of shimmers and mattes which blend flawlessly together. It can make a super dramatic smokey eye, a razor-sharp cut crease, or a beautiful everyday look. I've been able to use every color and fall in love, which is difficult with palettes. Definitely worth the money and hype." —tristanreidk

Get it from Sephora for $39.

    8. A portable photo printer that'll transform any smartphone into an instant camera.

    KiiPix

It folds flat so you can easily throw it in your bag.

Promising review: "Bought the printer to take with me to a wedding over the weekend. The printer was very easy to carry around and you can print pictures anytime and anywhere. You get a nice retro vibe to the pictures, and everyone loved having a physical photo to keep. I highly recommend it. Tip: make sure your phone is on full brightness before you print to make sure it doesn’t come out too dark." —Ambika Singh

    10. A ~ghost~ acrylic Squatty Potty with all the same benefits as the regular one but it'll actually add to the aesthetics of a bathroom.

    Amazon

Promising review: "This thing is SLEEK! I bought this for my new home's main floor guest bath. We wanted to provide guests with the convenience of 'squat pot' without the eyesore of the white 7" one. I feel like if Kim and Kanye had a Squatty Potty, it would be this one. I find it's shaped SLIGHTLY different than my white 7" one, and I like that. I also find no squeaking noise as I pull or push it from the basin of the toilet, unlike my white one. My guests didn't notice it was there until I pointed it out. Go with the ghost acrylic, you won't regret it!" —Durga D

Get it from Amazon for $99.99.

    11. A powerful battery pack that can charge two devices at once (including tablets).

    Amazon

It can charge the iPhone 7 almost seven times, the Galaxy S6 five times, or the iPad mini 4 twice.

Promising review: "I've had the PowerCore 20100 for a couple of months now, and I love it! It is a wonderful, portable charger that even inspired my wife to pick up an Anker charger. I've charged both my wife's and my iPhone X simultaneously, was able to get a pretty good charge on an iPad Pro, charged my Apple Watch, and even my Bose QuietComfort headphones (obviously, not all at the same time, there are only two ports). The two ports are very convenient, especially when I have to carry my personal cell phone as well as a cell phone for work." —Joshua N Nichols

Get it from Amazon for $39.99+ (available in three colors).

    12. An elegant decanter to give a bottle of wine some breathing room. The aerated wine can then be served directly from the carafe or poured back into the original bottle — without any leaks!

    Amazon

Promising review: "Excellent product — works well with no leaks while decanting the bottle. There is a huge, very noticeable difference between relatively young wine decanted with this unit and a non-decanted bottle. It's fun to use and very effective. This was a nice recommendation from the proprietor of our local wine bar. Highly recommended." —Glenn Neilson

Get it from Amazon for $49.95.

    13. A classic leather tote bag for the most stylish way to carry their entire life around.

    Amazon

Promising review: "I am thrilled to have found this. I needed a replacement for a very expensive Kate Spade bag that I finally got fed up with for various reasons. This is just what you want in a bag! It's a roomy tote with a top zipper to keep things private (something I needed), and it looks so much more expensive than it is." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $53.99 (available in two styles and seven colors).

    14. A Waterpik water flosser so they can take their oral hygiene to new heights. I know so many people with this on their wish list — practical gifts are underrated!

    Amazon

It has 10 pressure settings, seven water flossing tips, and 90 seconds of water capacity.

Promising review: "I love this product. It makes your mouth feel so clean. After using it for several weeks, I noticed several things: no more bad breath, no more bad taste in my mouth, my gums are much healthier, no more bleeding, and my teeth are less sensitive at the gum line. This is, by far, one of the best buys I've made this year.

This Waterpik has two settings and variable pressure, which is great. The pressure setting goes from very light to heavy pressure on a scale of 1–10. Start out on mild setting and work up to a level of comfort. It has a gum massage setting that is wonderful for sore gums or for a person who grinds their teeth. It's very soothing. There are a variety of tips, such as for plaque or deep pockets, which are worth looking at and buying if they fit your needs.

I highly recommend for folks with a lot of crowns, receding gum lines, pockets, or if you are not great at flossing due to bleeding or teeth so close that it's difficult to floss.

It is a good size so storing it is a problem in my very small bathroom, but I don't care. Other issues — well, there is a learning curve in using it. Everyone I have talked to, who has one, has asked me if I have shot water across the bathroom and the answer is yes. My cat flees the bathroom as soon as I turn on the Waterpik now. So use only warm water until you get the hang of it.

I wholeheartedly recommend this product. I like it so much that I'm buying the portable one for travel, and it's on my Christmas list for family and friends." —JS

Get it from Amazon for $59.99 (available in seven colors).

    18. A DNA testing kit so they can learn more about their ancestry and perhaps discover a missing piece of the family puzzle.

    23andMe

Results can take up to eight weeks, depending on processing time.

Promising review: "Just six months into researching my father's DNA, I found my grandfather's family and figured out who he really was. I wanted to ensure that my information was correct and so I contacted the daughters to the man I believed to be my grandfather's brother and offered to test them both. Their test results confirmed they were indeed our first cousins. I have since been in contact with close and distant family via this newly discovered paternal side and even obtained a copy of my grandfather's family surname book. His absence was even recorded in the book! I solved an 83+ year mystery and gained a family I longed my entire life to know about. I cannot be more thankful that these tests are available and that it gives us such ability to solve things that seem impossible." —Coastal Girl

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "I love these Faber-Castell Polychromos, I have many kinds of colored pencils, and these are by far the best ones I own. They are so smooth and spread across a piece of paper like butter. They color so well, and it's so much easier to use when you only have to use light pressure to get a beautiful color. The colors are vibrant and bright, and they sharpen very well to a nice point without breaking the tip. I have no complaints about these pencils, they are amazing." —Wilhelm.Bear

    22. A small but loud wireless Bluetooth speaker that can actually float in water. (So yes, it's 100% waterproof.)

    Amazon

You can get 10 hours of play from a single charge.

Promising review: "The sound from this little guy is amazing. I was expecting good quality sound, as UE (owned by Logitech) makes great products. I was surprised, though, at how much you notice the lower tones and bass from this thing. It has a full sound and is multidirectional, so you get good coverage wherever you are standing in relation to the speaker. It also gets quite loud, so if you enjoy that, you won't miss anything here. It feels robust and durable. The charging cable that comes with it is flat, so it folds really nice and small for travel without tangling. All of the buttons are tactile but also low profile, which is excellent. Overall, I am 100% happy with this purchase. You really cannot go wrong buying this. Bonuses: it is waterproof, floats in water, and can be paired with another Wonderboom for even bigger sound at parties without the need for any app or phone software." —Greg L.

Get it from Amazon for $64.99+ (available in 11 colors/patterns).

    23. A warm and shaggy throw blanket — a universally appreciated gift the whole family will approve of (including pets). This one is big enough for a couple to share so they won't fight over who gets to snuggle in it.

    Amazon

Promising review: "I have never found a fur blanket that was as thick and warm and incredibly SOFT as this one is. The blanket is exceptional because of its fur and sherpa mix. I can be picky about the feel of sherpa sometimes, as it can feel dry on my hands, but this one is very soft and smooth. Even after washing and tumble drying on low, it is just as soft as it was when I got it." —ShannonW

    24. A sous vide precision cooker so their steaks will always be cooked to absolute perfection.

Promising review: "I had been hunting for a new cooking technique to really amp up my meals lately. I stumbled upon this amazing sous vide by Gourmia, and my meals have never been so amazing! It cooked the meat with such perfection it would just melt in my mouth. This product is so amazing and so worth the money. 25. A pretty yoga mat to get them pumped for exercising in the new year.

    instagram.com, instagram.com

This yoga mat is made through non-toxic, emissions-free manufacturing. It's 100% latex-free. Manduka offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. If the product wears out from regular use under normal conditions, they will replace the product, regardless of where it was purchased!

Promising review: "Immediately loved this mat when I pulled it out of its wrapper. I'm currently training to become a yoga teacher and decided it was time to buy myself a mat that didn't come from TJ Maxx. I had no idea how impactful a mat could be on my practice. I can hold poses longer, my hands and feet don't slip or slide in poses, and my joints are comfortable when I place them on the mat for poses (typically my knees will hurt a lot with other yoga mats when putting pressure on them on the mat, so it's refreshing that this mat doesn't feel ultra squishy to the touch but still has the easiness on my joints that a super squishy mat would have). Because the mat doesn't have a thick padded layer, it rolls up really well and doesn't curl on the ends, it also grounds you better so you feel more stable in balancing poses; There's a springiness that keeps it cushy, though. It does smell a little initially, it's a typical natural rubber smell, but it does go away if you leave it outside to air out. Awesome mat and totally worth the money!" —Jayme

Get it from Amazon for $29.63+ (available in two lengths and 14 colors).

    26. A set of oval makeup brushes that'll feel soft as a bunny's bottom.

    Amazon

Promising review: "I will keep this short and simple: these brushes are to die for. The quality of hair on the brush is like feeling silk brushed up against your skin. The flexibility of each one is also awesome — they're not made cheaply, where you can rub so hard it's going to break. You won't get that with these brushes! And the box it comes in is so great, it's like getting this at a high-end department store for half the cost." —Susan V

Get a 10-piece set from Amazon for $19.99.

    27. A set of minimalist salt and pepper shakers for anyone who appreciates cooking and good design.

There are cute patterns and sayings each week and overall, I would 100/100 recommend this planner to anyone professionally or academically!" —Samantha Flanagan

    30. A cotton jersey pajama set so they can lounge around the house in comfort and style.

    Amazon

Promising review: "Not only do these pajamas hold their shape quite well, but they also wash well, are comfortable, and the button holes do not stretch out. The fabric is the perfect weight for year-round comfort if one is more cold-natured as I am. The color is exactly as depicted in the photo. If you like your pajamas on the loose side, I would buy them in the size you think you need. If you like them to fit more true to size, I would buy a size down from your normal size." —dawn jordan

Get it from Amazon for $34.99+ (available in sizes XS–3X and 11 colors/patterns).

    31. A facial cleansing brush to gently but thoroughly remove hard-to-get dirt, makeup, and debris. New year, clean skin!

    Amazon

Promising review: "I have had problems with acne since my pre-teen years. I used everything from prescription topical acne creams to the very serious antibiotic, Accutane (which was not fun). I've had phases of clear skin to terrible breakouts, which is why I was amazed when after using this product only a few times, I noticed a shift in my skin. I use this every morning and night, especially before and after workouts, and about once or twice a week, I'll use the exfoliating (black and white) brush. This product is absolutely amazing and I would definitely try it out for yourself if you're debating." —Jessica Parman

But I have to say, the Foreo seems like it cleans my face and pores even better, with no irritation, and my skin looks smoother and more glowy. That has been my immediate observation." —John Beliveau

    33. A brand new Echo Dot (now with better sound) so they'll have their very own little helper named Alexa who can control smart home devices, read the news, set alarms, answer questions, and more.

    Amazon

Promising review: "I had no idea I'd love Alexa so much — I wake up in the morning and she does the routine I've set up. My husband and I played Skills trivia games for hours last night. If we had kids, it would be even more useful (kid's workouts, stories, games) — we even had a goodnight story read to us by Alexa, and it was awesome. I'm really loving it. The Echo Dot itself is pretty great — the sound quality is pretty good, the bass, when turned up, is not that great, but if you really want to rock out, you can connect it to other speakers or just use something else instead. I'm really surprised by how much I like the Alexa app (and the Echo Dot), because I'm a little resistant to technology, but it's pretty easy to figure out and feels like a new little buddy in the home. I'm excited to get some smart-home stuff now so I can turn on/off lights, heat, etc. The only tiny issue I have is that for some reason Alexa doesn't pick up my husband's voice as much as it does mine — maybe because I've used it more? Really cool, though, overall. I feel like Judy Jetson!" —Leah

Get it from Amazon for $29.99 (available in three colors).

Promising review: "I just got my Cabeau Evolution S3 Pillow and love the straps on the back. I hate it when I fall asleep on a flight and my head is bobbing around all over the place. The straps will also be nice when I have to get up on the flight so I don't have to figure out what to do with it while I'm up. It will just stay in place on my headrest. The pocket on the side is a nice size and is big enough to hold my iPhone 7 and leaves it sticking out just enough to make the earphone plug accessible." —Wayne

    Amazon

This sampler contains an assortment of black tea, herbal tea, oolong tea, green tea, and white tea blends — there are 40 tea bags in total.

Promising review: "First of all, the packaging is genius. Every time you open the box you feel like it’s a special occasion. The lid lists all the different kinds of tea in the box, and it’s fun to choose a flavor that matches your mood. Then there’s the tea bags themselves — pyramid-shaped so they’re very distinctive, with that little stiff string that ends in a leaf, so unique and special. But let’s face it, presentation alone won’t get repeat customers. The tea is delicious. It’s high quality with unusual blends of flavors, combinations I would not have thought of but the end result is delightful. I will be a repeat customer." —Eliza Dolittle

Get it from Amazon for $57 (available in five combos).

    39. A crystal water bottle sure to lift their spirits and encourage them to stay hydrated.

There is a sleeve to protect the glass so I wouldn’t worry about it being too fragile. I ordered the quartz, and I’m in awe at how beautiful it is." —elliewills_908
