Gardener Impaled By Pruning Shears Through Eye Socket

Holy crap! When 86-year-old Leroy Luetscher fell on his pruning shears while gardening, the handle penetrated through his eye socket and down into his neck, resting against the carotid artery. Surgeons in Tuscon, Arizona were able to remove the shears and save his eye! Luetscher has some swelling in his eyelid, but is expected to make a full recovery with no lasting damage to his eyesight.
