We also know how important it is to find a way to achieve this balance. Here's how we find balance.by WriteOnTargetCommunity ContributorLinkFacebookPinterestTwitterMail 10. Unplug for the day Via pixabay.com Wean yourself off of checking every voicemail, email or text message. Turn off your phone for an hour at a time. Spend time with friends and family. Be in the moment. Breathe. 9. Exercise Via pixabay.com Aim for 30-60 minutes of exercise a day. People who make time to exercise are actually less likely to experience work-life conflict. 8. Recognize the role of work Via pixabay.com Work plays a significant role in your life. It keeps a roof over your head and food on the table. It pays the bills and funds your retirement. Instead of dreading it, embrace it. 7. Practice those refusal skills Via pixabay.com You’re under no obligation to participate in or join every meeting, dinner or event. Your time away from the office is yours, and you should spend it the way you want to. Don’t overextend yourself. Relax instead. 6. Take a vacation Via pixabay.com The average American only takes 10 of 14 vacation days a year, yet studies have shown that workers who use their vacation time come back happier and more productive. You earned your vacation time, take it. 5. Ask for what you need Via pixabay.com Most companies offer work-life policies that provide accommodations and flexibility to employees. Think about what you might need. A flexible schedule? The ability to work from home? Talk to your manager and ask for it. 4. Get enough sleep Via pixabay.com Fact: 40% of Americans don’t get the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep needed every night. Sleep deprivation reduces productivity, makes it harder to focus, increases irritability and leads to higher stress levels. Sleep like a baby and get those ZZZs. 3. Ask for help Via pixabay.com You actually don’t have to do it all. If you can afford it, hire some help for time-draining chores like house cleaning, laundry and lawn maintenance. And if you’re drowning at work, delegate. 2. Love your job... Via pixabay.com If you're going to spend 40+ hours a week working, it should be something you enjoy. As Confucius said, choose a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life. 1. Love your life Via pixabay.com Love the life you live and you’ll be happier and more at peace each and every day. One might even say…you'll achieve balance.
