Animal Dung As Food and Drink- Not Just for Jinns Anymore?

Kopi Luwak, or civet coffee, was recently deemed to be 'halal' as long as it is washed. The civets eat and excrete the coffee beans. At somewhere in the $200-600 per pound range, it isn't cheap. Now that it's considered okay for Muslims to drink, however, here are some more things which are almost sure to catch on:

  • 1. Kopi muncak

Coffee beans are also "processed" by the Muntjac, or "Barking deer".

  • 2. Bat Coffee

Certain bats process coffee as well, but this sh*t is really expensive at over $600 per pound, and they can't guarantee the flavor. They've only recently been able to harvest enough of this to put some on the market.

  • 3. Argan oil

Argan oil was traditionally produced from argan pits processed by goats. It is used in cooking, cosmetics and massage and considered by some to be an aphrodesiac.
