"The Dragon Dog"- $100

History: The decadent Dragon Dog was created by Dougie Luv, the owner of DougieDog in Vancouver, BC.

What's in this decadent dog? So, I'm sure you're wondering, what exactly you'd get for $100? This hotdog consists of a pork bratwurst infused with Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac (which sells for anywhere from $1,900 to $2,500.) The bratwurst is sautéed in olive and truffle oil, placed on a sourdough sweetbread bun, and topped with Kobe beef, fresh lobster, tomatoes, truffles, aioli and a hot sauce that is “just a little spicy.”

"The K-O Dog" - $80

History: On National Hot Dog Day in 2011, the Brockton Rox of the independent Cam-Am League in Massachusetts unveiled the "K-O Dog."

What's In This Decadent Dog? The half-pound all beef foot long hot dog is deep fried and rolled in truffle oil, then coated with porcini dust, sprinkled with white truffle shavings, and topped with dollops of creme fraiche, caviar and fresh roe.

"Serendipity's Foot-Long Haute Dog"- $69

History: Serendipity 3 in Manhattan rolled out the Serendipity Foot Long Haute Dog as a way to celebrate National Hot Dog Day. Originally a promotional stunt, this dog found its way into Guinness Book Of World Records for the most expensive hot dog. The dog was so successful, Serendipity decided to add it to the menu full-time.

What's In This Decadent Dog? The foot-long beef dog is grilled in truffle oil and sits within a fresh-from-Germany pretzel bread bun toasted in truffle butter. The dog is then topped with foie gras medallions, black truffles and Vidalia onions.

"Lobster Sausage Haute Dog" - $10.50

History: Hank’s Haute Dogs, based out of Honolulu, Hawaii, was prominent in the local media, but it wasn't till it was featured on Guy Fieri's hit show, ‘Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives’ that this dog became famous.

What's In This Decadent Dog? Lobster sausage seared in butter then dressed with garlic aioli, relish and pickled takuan radish.

"Kobe Beef Dog" - $9.86

History: Starting out as a food cart on the streets of Vancouver, this is one hot dog company that has a come a long way. As of 2011, JAPADOG has four stands in Vancouver and a location in Manhattan's East Village.

"The VINH Dog"- $4.50


Asia Dog started in 2008 in the backyard of a friend's bar. Since then, they’ve grown to multiple locations including the Brooklyn Flea, Central Park Summerstage, and a store in NYC's Nolita neighborhood.

"Alligator & Pork, Smoked Andouille Sausage Dog"- $7.50

History: Meet the hottest dog in LA. The Wurstküche Restaurant, which serves up exotic sausages, is the talk of the town. With a selection of dogs that range from buffalo to hickory-smoked gator, this is one of the best places to get your "haute dog" fix.

What's In This Decadent Dog? The Crif Dog with a schmear of cream cheese, scallions & everything bagel seeds.

"The Waffle Dog "- $7.60

History: Little Skillet's is best known for their famous waffle dog, which has been featured in many articles and food based tv shows.

What's In This Decadent Dog? The waffle dog consists of juicy andouille sausage wrapped in bacon, topped with their homemade remoulade all served atop a crisp cornmeal waffle.
