You might spend a lot of time worrying about how much money you have - or don’t have - to get by. You are the frugal one, to the point where you may barely let yourself spend money so you can save for emergencies instead. You make your decisions based on how little money you could spend, which can lead to negative effects on your mental health and life. To gain power over money, start by budgeting and making a plan for the worst. Once you know you will be covered in case of emergency, give yourself a small budget to spend on fun things and living your life.

Super Saver

You have probably been told money “burns a hole in your pocket.” In your mind, money is made to be spent, and you’d rather have fun and enjoy life than stress about it. Sometimes you may find yourself buying things you don’t really want or need, just to have an excuse to go out and experience the fun of swiping your card. That being said, sometimes you may get too carried away and end up broke or in  debt because of your spending habits. Reigning in your purchases with a budget and limiting credit card usage are two good ways to start taking control of your money relationship.

Super Spender

You probably feel like you have a great relationship with money. You like to take part in activities that cost money, but you don’t spend money just because you have it. You try not to go overboard, but you don’t limit yourself. While you might still live paycheck to paycheck, you probably don’t have much debt from your spending habits, and you might even have a small savings account in case of emergency. To better your money relationship, you might make a long-term plan of goals for your money. While spending money often on small things isn’t bad in the short run, you may find yourself enjoying saving more money for some larger purchases later.

Super Socializer

You probably hate spending money because you like seeing your money accumulate. You pride yourself on being frugal, and you may make a lot of choices based on how much money you could save over time. You aren’t scared of spending money, but you try to force yourself to live like you are. You would rather live like you are broke now than spend money on fun things and possibly be broke in the future. You may even get enjoyment from finding hacks and tricks to save money. To better your money relationship, you may budget some money to “let loose” and enjoy your money every once in a while. While saving is great, finding a balance between enjoying your present and saving for your future is crucial!
