In 2016, British singer Laura Mvula shared that she suffers with anxiety. In an interview with The Guardian she said she feels more anxious when she is left alone.
On Wednesday the 30-year-old uploaded an Instagram post addressing her progress. P R O G R E S S. A while ago I was open about my struggle with an ongoing anxiety disorder I've had for years. Travelling alone on the tube alone was a big no no but in the last couple of weeks I made a choice to do what had felt impossible for a long time. Here I am doing it! Urging anyone who struggles with anxiety to take small steps. Anything is possible! You're not alone. 😘😘😘 (whoops nearly missed my stop writing this!😆) #mentalhealth #awareness #freedom #hope #strength
Mvula's post was flooded with positive comments and words of encouragement.
Some people shared their experiences with anxiety under the picture and thanked Mvula for her honesty.
"You're reaching [out] to more people than you'll ever know with this post!", one comment said.
