There are a number of weekend getaways you can visit and outdoor activities you can get involved in, in the Midwest during the winters.

Snowmobiling- Go snowmobiling for miles on dedicated trails for this adventurous activity during the winters.


Where: Eagle River, Wisconsin. People gather at this place during the winters to play on the dedicated trails. If you do not own a ride of your own, you can rent one. You can also sign up for a tour with the relevant agency here.

Sculpture Garden Stroll- Taking a stroll in the garden during winters feels simply serene, with very few people and nothing but a stretch of snow.


Where: Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids, Michigan. This place has well-made paths, curved walkways, and over 200 sculptures.

Ice skating- Put on those skates and show off your ice skating skills during the winters.

Where: McCormick Tribune Ice Rink. This place hosts a number of ice sports, open skate till the month of March, and also free lessons for those who are interested. If you do not own a pair of skates, you can rent them easily.


Where: Kettle Moraine State Forest, Wisconsin. This place has over 100 miles of trail full of open meadows and dense pine forest. Snowshoeing on these trails is an excellent form of entertainment for snowshoers, owing to the combination of fun and breath-taking natural beauty, at the same time.
