Which Of These Terrible Netflix Movies Should You Watch?

If you like Amanda Seyfriend and Clive Owen, don’t watch this movie, because somehow Netflix persuaded them to do this terrible movie and I can’t look at them the same anymore. Anon has some sick science-fic concepts on par with Minority Report. The protagonist gets wrapped up in a futuristic, dystopian murder mystery, and then there’s lots and lots of uncomfortable sex scenes. Worst of all, lots of predictability and a confusing ending.

This movie definitely has some cute and funny moments, but as a whole is just plain terrible. There were more fake-out endings than Jessica Simpson singing the National Anthem, and there are plenty of sexist scenes mixed with teenagers pounding liquor and even a sex scene behind one of the Hollywood letters (which IRL, is guarded by barbed wire). The Kissing Booth has a lot of WTF moments, and had way too much narration by a protagonist with way too many feelings.

How It Ends is described as a disaster film, and I believe that description is entirely accurate. You will cry after watching it as you realize how poorly you have wasted your time with so many unanswered questions. Believe me—the film starts out great. Some say the title refers to a note the writer left himself as a reminder to finish the ending.

Jack Black will disappoint and embarrass you once again as you wait for punch lines and then realize you are in the midst of awkward silences in The Polka King. While the true story has some interesting drama and scandal, the performance and plot is a little off, and seemingly never-ending. I will never look at an accordion or a pair of lederhosen the same way again.

A couple years ago, Netflix made the genius plan of making a bad, corny Christmas romance movie ON PURPOSE. Likely after noticing the trend of hundreds of Holiday Hallmark specials being consumed by the public, Netflix decided it can’t be that hard to make a bad rom-com movie with predictability from the get-go. Turns out, it must be! One of my favorite features of this movie is that in the fictional kingdom of Aldovia, the characters change accents from scene to scene.

A Christmas Prince - 2017

Get ready to curl up with a film that is both confusing and slightly irritating. While the science-fiction concepts are interesting (at first), your interest will likely fade as lead actress Margaret Qualley continues to wander her corner of the abandoned earth with her mouth open for ambiguous scientific research. Behold, the birth of the next Kristen Stewart.
