10 Movies That Should Have Won Oscars

These are some of the greatest movies of all time. I am no film expert, but one time I had a roommate who was a film major. You should definitely have a movie marathon of these films with 13 of your closest friends.

Angst. Love. Homoerotic undertones. Toxic masculinity. Weird gun that turns people into babies. These are just some of the countless amazing topics of the phenomenon that is Sky High. Following superhero teens through puberty to the dangers of high school was the genius idea of writers Paul Hernandez, Bob Schooley, Mark McCorkle. For best use, watch the movie with that knowledge that awkward, yet douchey, Will Stronghold is mutually in love with angsty fireman Warren Peace (also like, what a name) and that plant girl and guinea pig girl definitely were banging. 9/10 - could have been more gay

Sequel to actual Oscar award-winning "Shrek", Shrek 2 takes your favorite outcast fairytales (introducing Puss In Boots) back into the kingdom of Far Far Away. Including iconic scenes such as the dinner table debacle or the chase scene to the tune of "I Need A Hero", lay this soundtrack at any party and you are guaranteed to gain at least 4 friends. Special bonus: if you have the DVD you have the honor to play "Far Far Away Idol" where the whole cast sings for their lives. 10/10 - definitely have cried over this movie

Not to be confused with the traumatizing production of "Chicken Run", Chicken Little is a tale of a small chicken with anxiety who just wants to save the world. But sadly, he lives in town full of haters who just don't want to a listen when he declares that the sky is falling. Chicken Little can also be used in critical analysis of "Independence Day", another take on an alien invasion dystopia. 8/10 - extra points for the "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" duet

Honestly, you can't go wrong with a single movie from this franchise. "Air Bud" is a timeless classic of a kid and his golden retriever "Buddy" who is killer on the basketball court. With great themes of American sport culture, this is a movie for any animal lover. Though, re-reading the plot to freshen up my memory, this movie had some heavy stuff for a young me to be watching in the late 90s. 10/10 - this pupper steals the show and the ball

There's nothing cuter than a tiny animal in a tiny car, so when the Little family met Stuart at the adoption center, they couldn't help but love him! An incredible critique of power dynamics in the American household between cat and mouse, Stuart Little is a wild ride from start to finish. While many would argue that Michael J. Fox's break through role was in "Back To The Future", I would challenge that with the incredible acting done as one Stuart Little. 7/10 - tiny mouse in a tiny car that goes zoom!
