Operations Specialists (OS) work from the nerve center, developing search and rescue plans to save mariners in danger, overseeing law enforcement operations, and gathering and applying intelligence information while operating the most advanced tactical computer systems in the Coast Guard.

From protecting US waters and the public from oil and hazardous material responses to conducting safety and security inspections, Marine Science Technicians (MST) play the essential role of enforcing regulations for the safety of the marine environment and the security of the port.

Know a remedy for sea sickness? Heath Services Technicians provide emergency healthcare services and daily medical care for Coast Guard personnel and their families. 

Health Services Technician

Culinary Specialists (CS) serve in approximately 370 units worldwide supporting the Coast Guard mission by preparing nutritious meals for the crew and serving in various collateral duties on board the unit.

Ahoy matey! Botswain's Mates (BM) are the largest enlisted career field in the Coast Guard and sit at the operational core of every mission. BMs are the service’s experts in all aspects of deck seamanship and navigation.  Because of their expertise, few things happen at sea without a BM involved in, or in charge of, the evolution.

If you're the type of person who jumps right into the water without dipping your toes in, this is the job for you. The duties of Aviation Survival Technicians (AST) include saving lives, providing emergency medical support, and maintaining the survival equipment their shipmates depend upon in emergencies.
