#BeyondTheScreen: Online Mental Health

Social media is a part of our everyday lives. Come to the Counseling Center Paraprofessionals upcoming Tuesday @ 7 workshop to share your interesting stories about social media. We will also discuss what happens on social media and how it relates to mental health! Join us at 7pm on Tuesday, April 10th in Lincoln Hall room 1066. Here are some spoilers on what to expect from the upcoming workshop:

Dealing With The "Holiday Moment"

We are going to elaborate on how “holiday moment” posts influence our self-esteem in social media. We are also going to discuss and share the goals of using social media - for example, why do we care about others’ posts?

Understanding Do's and Don'ts in Social Media

We are going to discuss and share with you some tips of language use in social media. We'll go over what some healthy and unhealthy habits are.

Responding to Social Media Comments

We will discuss and show you some real comments we found on social media. We hope this will be a great opportunity to see how we can respond to these negative and positive comments.

Talking About Texting

We will also spend some time discussing the effects of texting. Is it beneficial for our communication? Or is it bad for communication? We have some fun activities to explore this topic.

Sharing Your Feelings of Social Media

This is a safe and open space for you to share with us your feelings and perspectives of social media. We would love to hear different perspectives and stories from everyone. We hope you can join us!
