1. Bon Scott

(9 July 1946 – 19 February 1980)

Australian music Royalty. Bon Scott was the lead singer and lyricist of hard rock band AC/DC. On 19 February 1980, Scott, 33, passed out after a night of heavy drinking in a London club. He was left to sleep in a car. Scott was found lifeless the next morning and rushed to hospital where he was pronounced DOA. The official cause was listed on the death certificate as "acute alcohol poisoning" and classified as "death by misadventure". It is believed he choked on his own vomit. Conspiracy theories suggest that Scott was killed by exhaust fumes redirected into the car trying to stay warm or that he had an asthma attack.

3. Sam Cooke


(January 22, 1931 – December 11, 1964)

Cooke was a singer songwriter commonly referred to as the 'King of Soul'. He had several hits including "You Send Me", "A Change Is Gonna Come", "Cupid", "Chain Gang", "Wonderful World", and "Twistin' the Night Away".

On December 11, 1964, at the age of 33, Cooke was fatally shot by Bertha Franklin, the manager of the Hacienda Motel in Los Angeles, California. After an inquest, the courts ruled Cooke's death to be a justifiable homicide.

4. John Belushi


(January 24, 1949 – March 5, 1982)

A Blues Brother, a 'Saturday Night Live' founding member and a legend.

Belushi died on the morning of March 5, 1982 in Hollywood, California at the Chateau Marmont, after being injected with, and accidentally overdosing on, a mixture of cocaine and heroin (a "speedball") at the age of 33.

5. Andy Hallett


(August 4, 1975 – March 29, 2009)

Sweet, gentle, kind and generous were some of the words Andy's fans used to describe him. You may not recognise him without his make-up but Andy was a fan favourite in his role as 'Lorne' on Joss Whedon's 'Angel'.

According to a 2005 interview, about a month after filming the last episode of Angel, Hallett suffered a dental infection which spread through the bloodstream to his heart, leading to a case of cardiomyopathy, for which he spent five days in the hospital. Five years after first experiencing heart problems, and after at least three additional hospitalizations, Hallett died from congestive heart failure on March 29, 2009 at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles with his father by his bedside.

Stephen Patrick David Gately was an Irish pop singer-songwriter, actor, children's writer and dancer, who, with Ronan Keating, was one of two lead singers of the pop group Boyzone.

Gately died of a congenital heart defect on 10 October 2009
